POP MIE DRESS

This is a Pop-Culture themed dress that I designed for a high school Visual Arts Exhibition in 2017. The inspiration behind this artwork derived specifically from Andy Warhol’s painting of Campbell Soup Cans. My version of the artwork illustrates Pop Mie cup noodles in different flavours, aiming to represent the popularity as well as mass consumption of Pop Mie cup noodles in Indonesia. I then transformed the artwork into a pattern for a dress that I have previously designed. This dress aims to portray the crucial role that Pop Mie cup noodle plays in the Indonesian culture, as well as a way for me to channel my Indonesian heritage.
